Abstract

The present article seeks to discuss the importance of the work Levana and Our Ladies of Sorrow, by Thomas de Quincey, part of the essays that make up the work Suspiria de Profundis, published in 1845. For this we proceed to a brief description of the author, and then focus on the content of the essay. At the end, the influence of the text on the film trilogy by Dario Argento, called the trilogy of Mothers, is analyzed.
